I was laid off and applied for Unemployment within MA in August, 2006, ending surrounded by May, 2007. Now, my company is doing company-wide layoffs! I've worked here more than a year, but only "officially" since mid-July (I had be a temp for quite awhile). I've been through the Department of Workforce Development website, and am still embryonic whether I will be eligible again since a.) I haven't been here a year and b.) I was still reception unemployment benefits last May. Is 8 months ample? Does the "12 months from your last claim" begin the date you open your claim, or the date of the last time a check arrived? Oh dear, help! Am I going to lose my charge? I have a disciplinary hearing surrounded by the next couple of days, this will be my second one in the space of a month, at the first the outcome be a first written warning (there are four stages in the disciplinary process, informal conversations, afterwards it goes to first written, 2nd written, final written and then dismissal) in attendance have decided to also hold a HR manager in the council, which didn't happen at my first disciplinary, which concerns me. The reason I enjoy gotten the warning in the first place is due to lateness, I be determined to put a stop to this, but then about a week following I found that a family member have died which affected my performance at work, and I be late a couple more times. I wonder if someone can advise me on this. Am I irrational for despising multi-tasking as much as i do? Should in attendance be labor law prohibition multitasking? When i had an office career, i would get 100 emails a day, and later these people would call me on the phone, detail me to open their email they just convey, look at the picture or Excel spreadsheet, while i'm still on the phone and edit it on the spot, email it back to them, while still on the phone, and afterwards wait for them to modify it and send it pay for to me.on and on. THis is just one example. I began to proscribe to do this and everyone said that i was a "problem" employee, simply because i merely do one thing at a time, while doing my best possible work. If you do 6 things at once, you get 6 failure in maybe 3/4 of a afternoon. If you do 6 things one at a time, you get six masterpieces in sometime. So multitasking yields no successes and only gain you 2 hours. Is this why the failures of the office evacuate 2 hours early to play golf and leave their messes for the TRUE workers to clean up? Oh wait,,, that's multitasking too... doing the work of other empire. Should i just leave the rat-race to put on the market hot dogs on the beach? Or will i be forced to put mustard on 3 hot dogs at once while toasting the buns too? Am I justifiably entitled to a errand description? In Ontario, Canada, is one entitled to have a copy of the job description? Am I liable for a company credit card charge within my label? I work for a small business with business trips each week. I use my company credit card for adjectives expenses which is paid by the company. Recently I used the card to book a flight for around $750 but once the boss saw the receipts he said I should have be able to find something half that price and told me he is not going to reimburse the $750 off the card. I've be working in law firms for over 3 years and I own 2 Bachelors degrees (definently more education than the other clerks, AND more than the wallet room coordinator). Anyways, I do the same work as everyone else, but when it comes to oputting the files away (which people prefer NOT to do), the coordinator other gives the task to me! It's really annoying! I started to hang on to a detailed timeline of events at work that detailed not only unethical practises of command but also team members, tribal slurs, harrassment, sexual written innuendos and the like. I have tricky evidence of some of this stuff and witnesses to back up. I took all this stuff to HR and disclosed it hoping that I measure my boss to the punch as who knows what she would pull or already have. Now her boss is involved and HR is working with him to investigate allegations. A paralegal degree is one option I've considered, but I still want to know how to be home when my kids come home from school, so part-time is my single option.
