An egg may be hatched in the fall but not turn from tadpole to frog until spring, so as you see the temperature can change the development stages.The class of frog you have will also change the stage of development timing; there are some types that can take up to 8 months in the tadpole stage. Placing stones, lilies, or twigs in the water is a good idea when your tadpoles start to grow legs because they will want to be able to perch on something. Depending on your frog, you will need to know what kind of perch to set up; a land frog will need something rough to be able to exit the water.Once the tadpoles start growing their feet, it may be an indication to start feeding them small bugs. Bloodworms are a very healthy food for them; you can put them right in the water so the frogs can get to them.Keeping the garden full of vegetation is good for the frogs because they do like to stay hidden, even if using a tank; it is good to give them some vegetation so they can be comfortable. An outdoor pond can eventually turn into a breeding ground for the frogs and  putting some small fish like ‘Blue Eyes’ will help to keep it clean and mosquito free.
